A Fisherman's Perspective on using the new Fishing Science Products

I became a lifelong fisherman when my dad put a fly rod in my hand when I was seven years old trout fishing at Bennet Springs, MO.  Since then, whenever and wherever I can, I have been fishing for as many different varietes of fish and have discovered many different techniques to catch them.  I  just love to catch fish.

When I came across Fishing Science products I first thought - "this is not fishing, this is lazy".  Well after meeting the gentlemen who are behind these great American inventions - the Hook Set Pro, the EZ Jigger, and the Attract Master - I was enlightened that they were not trying to take my fishing pole out of my hand, they just wanted to enhance my fishing experience.  Don't you want to "Catch More Fish and Have More Fun" they asked?  "Yes, of course" I replied.  They encouraged me to keep my fishing pole in my hand but to add their products to my other fishing poles.  I live in Missouri, we can fish with 3 fishing poles.  My fishing partner is usually my wife so that means we fish with and maintain 6 fishing poles whenever we go fishing off the shore line or in our boat.

Anyway, I use these 3 great Fishing Science products just like any other tools in my bag of fishing tricks.  Yes, I use a sonar, a gps, and many different unique fishing rods and lures.

I guess if you only use one fishing pole, these products could be considered "lazy fishing".  However, when my wife and I are trying to maintain 6 fishing poles in the water, our fishing experience seems far from being lazy.  Our benefits?
  • It sharpens our fishing skills
  • We have an extra plate of fish at the dinner table for our family & friends
  • We catch More Fish and Have More Fun!!!!
Thanks again Fishing Science for turning me on to your game plan!!!

Hook Set Pro - Versatile for all types of fish and versatile for any season

The Hook Set Pro has 3 settings of tension and you can use this to your advantage for the size of fish your fishing for and the time of year you are fishing.
For crappie or pan fish - place your line through the #1 setting (light bite) and just put a little bend in the curve for your rod.  This will trigger the Hook Set Pro for a light bite and a less powerful hook set.
Remember, crappie have those paper lips and we just want to catch them - not injure them.

For larger fish like catfish - place your line through the #3 setting (heavy bite) and put a heavier bend n your rod.  Remember, the bigger the fish your trying to catch, the bigger the bend in your pole so you will get a heavier hook set

For the changing seasons consider placing your line in #1 for springtime, #2 for summer , and # 3 during winter or colder periods during the year.

The Hook Set Pro - Automatic hook setter

This is a revolutionary device for anyone who fishes from the shoreline for bottom feeders like catfish, walleye and even trout.  The device hooks on to the tip of your pole.  The lanyard attaches to your rod or rod holder on the shore.  It has 3 settings of bites - light, medium, or heavy - to adjust your fishing to how the fish are biting that particular day.  When your fish bites on your bait, the hook set pro quickly releases the tip of your pole in lightning speed.  The fish is immediately hooked (usually in the lips).  Set the hook again to make sure the fish is securely hooked and reel in your catch.  I have about a 90% success rate when using this device and since it usually hooks the fish in the lips you can easily release your fish if it is too small.  Another great American invention from the people at Fishing Science Inc.!

The Attract Master - Let the Fish find YOU!

This is not a lure but a device to attract fish to your boat.
The first time I used this was in Beaver Lake, Arkansas.
We were at Point 3 cove and not a thing on my sonar.  I hooked this up to my EZ Jigger and within 15 minutes we had fish on my sonar.  It sounds too good to be true but we had so many fish on my sonar that my screen was BLACK!  We started catching the heck out of hybrids and white bass using our own poles with hammered spoons as our lures.
It was one of heck of an experience!
